Our Team

Our grassroots run deep: a lifelong friendship and generational history in Caldwell County are now combined with a modern awareness of our growing community’s widening gaps in mental and neurodevelopmental healthcare. Together, Loren and Rebecca have more than a decade of clinical experience, alongside research, publications, and graduate-level teaching in our respective fields. We are eager to bring our expertise to our community!

    I am the co-founder of the HartWell Center, as well as a clinical leader in Occupational Therapy with diverse experience across the lifespan and continuum of care, passionate about changing the paradigm in healthcare delivery.

    I want to be part of the change that heals our healthcare system; to be human-centered, holistic, and effective not only at reducing symptoms, but promoting health and wellbeing. I hope to bridge disparate schools of thought on mind and body, technology, policy and practice to make a real-world impact on people who deliver and receive healthcare services.

    My past professional experiences include: occupational therapy and coaching services, sensory room design and consulting, therapeutic yoga, and clinical education.

    I do my best work by:
    * Applying systems-level thinking to complex problems
    * Developing strategic, data-driven solutions
    * Being thoughtful, efficient, and intentional
    * Centering collaboration and teamwork
    * Grounding decisions in evidence, data and theory
    * Maintaining an adaptive, flexible and growth-oriented mindset

  • Loren Riedel, MA, LPC

    I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX Lic. #80100), a Certified School Counselor, and co-founder of the HartWell Center. I was the school counselor at Clear Fork Elementary in Lockhart, TX for six wonderful years prior to opening my private practice, and now HartWell. Before counseling, I was an elementary school teacher.

    I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education from the University of Texas at Austin and my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. I have post-graduate training in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy and Child-Teacher Relationship Training.

    When working with children, I practice Child-Centered Play Therapy. When partnering with parents and caregivers, I work from a solution-focused framework. It is an honor to work with children and support them through their own unique healing process. Children are remarkable—almost magical— in their capability for growth and progress. I consider it my privilege to be a part of this chapter of their life.

    I feel so grateful to serve and be a part of our Caldwell County community. I look forward to getting to know your family as we work together!
